Elise Ying-Hei Ho — September 10, 2012 — Pop Culture
For all the Sims fans out there, this video has a whole new meaning to playing God. Created by Andrew McMurray, this video illustrates a curious world where Sims meets Roller Coaster Tycoon.
If you’re expecting a simple augmented reality video about someone trying to create a fun amusement park though, you’re in for an unexpected ride. In what starts off to be an innocent creation for pseudo-Sims and Tycoon owner, Andrew McMurray is quickly infuriated when a fellow customer reveals through his thought bubble that he is bored with the park. He picks up the patron by the arm, dangles him around in midair and drops the character to his demise. More thought bubbles begin to appear, which only fuels the fury of the owner at the lack of appreciation. Thus begins the madness.
Combined with the perfectly creepy carnival music and Andrew McMurray’s well-performed psychotic demeanor, the video exudes a dark and morbid sense of humor that is sure to excite any Sims lover.
