The Yamaha TY-E Electric Motorbike is Designed for Stunt Riding

Japanese automaker Yamaha has unveiled a unique electric motorbike that isn't designed to help riders get around the city, but is rather intended to enable riders to enjoy a variety of adrenaline-fuelled activities out in open terrain, especially for those who are into pulling off wheelies and stunts such as hopping over rocks.

The Yamaha TY-E actually happens to be a rare example of an electric motorbike that comes fitted with a clutch, with the specific purpose of giving riders an extra degree of lift-off when they want to leap onto a rock or perform a stunt. Weighing in at 70 kilograms, the TY-E is also lightweight and easy to maneuver.

With stunt biking becoming increasingly popular, it makes sense for avid stunt riders to go out and get a motorbike for that specific purpose, and it is this segment of the motorcycle market that Yamaha is trying to target with the TY-E.
