Bell's Remembrance Day Ads Tell a Story About a Young Girl

This Remembrance Day ad marks the launch of Bell's most recent campaign. Not only is Bell celebrating the important day through ads, the brand is also celebrating 184 of its staff who died serving Canada in both world wars.

The somber commercial by Leo Burnett is titled 'Poppy' and follows the story of a curious little girl. Over a simple piano score, the video begins with a little girl seeing a veteran selling poppies. This prompts her to make a quick Google search asking what exactly poppies are for. The subsequent images of the world wars make clear the poppy's significance, which forces the little girl to strike up a conversation with a veteran in Europe. Upon receiving a real poppy from her pen-pal, she then presents it to the same veteran who piqued her curiosity. The ad is simple, nostalgic and touching, creating the perfect tribute to the important day.
