A new real-time photo ID verification service is made possible through a collaboration between SecureKey Technologies Inc. and Onfido.
The partnership takes the best of both industry leaders to streamline the identification process. Thanks to Onfido, the collaboration is supercharged with the use of artificial intelligence and the company's existing physical document verification. This is then bettered by SecureKey's "real-time authentication and verification capabilities."
As a result, consumers who use the real-time photo ID verification platform are prompted to scan their physical identity documents--such as passports and drivers' licenses--and simultaneously receive the verification of other personal information in real-time "from trusted sources such as financial institutions, credit bureaus, telecommunication companies, and [the] government."
While drivers' licenses and passports are the first to be authenticated through this collaboration, Onfido and SecureKey plan to introduce provincial health cards and residency cards next.
