The Quarter Block Battery Strives to Use Every Bit of Juice

In many small electronics and gadgets you'll find a compartment designed for AA batteries, but the benefit to using a Quarter Block Battery set instead is that you may expect to get more power for your money.

According to Sun-You Lee, his invention of twist-together modular fuel cells will get more electric output for the chemical capacity of the containers, compared to the conventional system. It does this by splitting the charged solution up onto four separate compartments, but allowing them to work together in series.

When joined, the battery at the negative end of the sequence drains first, doing so completely before the next charger begins to work. The idea here is that the Quarter Block Battery ensures that all chambers are defused, which means there will be no more tossing the an active second cell the moment your device stops working.
