Katherine Pendrill — April 9, 2026 — Lifestyle
Quaker is building on the success of its Protein Porridge line by adding a new Quaker Protein Granola range.
Designed to meet the fast-growing demand for protein-packed breakfast items, the new Quaker Protein Granola lineup pairs wholesome ingredients with a generous serving of protein. There are two new flavors in the lineup, Mango & Passionfruit and Chocolate Brownie with Salted Caramel, and each boasts 22 and 21 grams of protein per 100 grams, respectively. The granolas are also made with wholegrain oats and wheat, and are a good source of fibre. As Danielle Gipson, Head of Marketing at Quaker, explains, "Our new Protein Granola range will appeal to shoppers looking for healthier breakfasts, offering a dual benefit of high protein and high fibre, made with wholesome ingredients."

Trend Themes
1. Protein-enhanced Breakfasts - Consumers' shift toward higher-protein mornings is creating room for products that deliver sport-level protein content in traditional breakfast formats.
2. Indulgent Functional Flavors - The pairing of dessert-style flavors with functional nutrition indicates a pathway for treats that satisfy taste expectations while meeting macronutrient targets.
3. Wholegrain High-fibre Positioning - Emphasizing wholegrains and fiber alongside protein signals demand for products that combine digestive health credentials with muscle-recovery benefits.
Industry Implications
1. Packaged Cereal Manufacturers - Large cereal brands have an opening to reengineer product lines around concentrated protein-per-serving claims without sacrificing familiar textures.
2. Sports Nutrition and Recovery - The sports-nutrition sector may intersect with mainstream breakfast offerings through protein formulations adapted for daily consumption rather than post-workout use.
3. Grocery Retail and Private Label - Retailers and private-label programs are positioned to introduce value-driven, high-protein wholegrain SKUs that blur the line between specialty nutrition and mass-market convenience.
