Liu Zhuang has designed the Purfiy Water Tent to create clean water and to provide shelter. The aptly named tent is obviously a shelter, but if you look closely you’ll notice the many pipes that border it. These are used to turn dirty water into clean drinking water. First, the water is pumped through a cone at the top of the tent where the sun’s heat is used in the first round of cleaning. The water is then pumped down the pipes where it undergoes a second round of filtration before emerging as drinkable water on the other side.
This design could obviously benefit poorer countries, but even developed nations could find use for the Purfiy Water Tent. The tent could be deployed in the event of an emergency or used by campers.
