Detroit's award-winning tourism brand Pure Michigan is launching a new series of adverts to attract tourists to the Great Lakes state.
The new Pure Michigan campaign is funded by a $13 million budget including $3 million from partner organizations. Pure Michigan received $29 in state funding, while Governor Rick Snyder has proposed a $31 million contribution for the state's next budget effective October 1.
The televised commercials will air at least 5,000 times on NBC, CBS, ABC and over a dozen other cable channels. The half-minute adverts, which include one called 'Open Road' and another dubbed 'Summer Breeze,' will splash picturesque shots of Detroit's coastlines, golf courses and other major attractions. The campaign will also include radio ads, billboards and advertisements on buses.
