PUBG Mobile Announces a Virtual Concert with K-Pop Stars Blackpink

Mobile battle royale game PUBG Mobile has announced that it will host its first virtual concert with K-pop superstars Blackpink. The event will take place from July 23-24 and July 30-31. Players will be able to grab free tickets in-game starting July 15. Players will have to download a special assets pack to attend the concert in the game, which will offer special avatars of the Blackpink members. The concert aligns with Blackpink’s rumored comeback schedule, and players can look forward to potentially hearing new music from the group at the metaverse-like event.
The virtual concert will feature “a special track and new music video, designed and created specifically for this collaboration.” This is not the first time a video game has hosted a virtual music event, as Fortnite recently hosted concerts by Travis Scott and Ariana Grande on its platform.
