The 'P-trak' Rapid Transit Concept Uses the Existing Highway System

Personal transportation solutions such as the automobile have grown immensely in popularity and are now seeing something of a decline as consumers ditch cars to live in cities, so new options like the 'P-trak' are being designed.

Conceptually created as a personal rapid transit solution, the pods would allow up to 20 passengers to travel within them on the existing US interstate highway system between cities or in areas where public transportation is limited. This would alleviate stress for consumers to own vehicles and put a focus on autonomous public transportation to keep people moving.

The 'P-trak' transit pod concept is the design work of Tara C Sriram and identifies how to keep transportation companies like Amtrak relevant as demand for public transport increases.
