Linkedin's 'ProFinder' Connects Companies to Freelance Workers
Laura McQuarrie — October 23, 2015 — Marketing
'ProFinder' is a new service from LinkedIn that makes it easy for companies to connect with freelancers.
On this platform, freelancers in the fields of design, recruiting, legal, photography and more have the chance to get connected with employers. To find an expert in a particular field, employers are able to put in a request that specifies a budget and a desired turnaround time. Following this step, LinkedIn suggests five offers prom professionals that would be a fit for that specific project, including a proposal that will specify details like a price estimate for their services.
Currently, the platform only operates in the San Francisco area, although it's easy to imagine expansion into new territories, as well as freelance categories hosted on the site. Considering that LinkedIn has yet to acknowledge freelance employment in such a significant way before, hopefully this will open up plenty of opportunities for freelancers and employers alike.
