Toady at Facebook's annual developer conference 'F8', the company announced that it will now allow users to add videos to their profiles with the Profile Expression Kit. Instead of relying on pictures, users can now add a new level of personalization to their profile in the form of short video clips.
The new Profile Expression Kit feature allows users to use third-party selfie cam apps to add videos to their Facebook profile. There are seven apps that can be used to add videos, including Vine, Instagram and the recently acquired MSQRD. The feature is designed to give users a new way to personalize their profiles and to increase overall engagement on the platform.
With video quickly becoming the go-to medium for young consumers, the new Facebook feature demonstrates the company's attempt to keep pace with changing user preferences.
