United Sends Its Elevated Dreamliner From Las Vegas to Tokyo

United scheduled its 'Elevated' Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for a rare Tokyo run from Las Vegas, giving CES travelers access to the airline's newest long-haul interior in a city that rarely sees this jet. The Las Vegas-to-Narita flights run Jan. 9-11.

United usually assigns this cabin to long-haul service from hubs such as San Francisco and Houston, so the Las Vegas appearance briefly opens it to passengers outside those gateways. Its 99 premium seats are geared toward business-heavy travel demand during the convention week.

United shows how the Dreamliner's brief Jan. 9-11 window can turn CES convention traffic into a live test case for sending premium-heavy aircraft beyond its usual hubs, widening the range of cities that can host a flagship cabin when a convention temporarily shifts international demand.
