Etihad Airways is fitting its incoming Airbus A330-900neo with a tailored premium cabin featuring four first class seats and 24 business class seats, using the Thompson Aero Vantage XL platform and privacy doors with the latest in-seat tech. The airline intends these cabins for its medium-haul A330neo fleet, with deliveries expected to begin in 2027.
The full plane will seat 290 passengers, including 252 in economy, and places a single row of first class at the forward bulkhead separated from business by a partial partition. The front-row first seats are described as a business-class-plus layout that takes advantage of bulkhead space and the side footwell to increase personal real estate.
For travelers this creates a step-up front-row experience on medium-haul aircraft, blending familiar staggered Vantage XL comfort with added privacy. Strategically, the cabins support Etihad’s medium-haul growth while letting the airline market a differentiated first-class offering on the A330neo.

- Privacy-door Cabins
- Enclosed premium seats are becoming a competitive differentiator as travelers increasingly associate personal space and separation with elevated airline value.
