Improved Game Graphics

Portal’s Free Ray-Tracing DLC was Created Using Nvidia's AI Upscaling Tech

Portal, a first-person puzzle game that recently saw significant popularity in online memes, has announced a new free DLC that will launch on December 8. In addition to adding ray-tracing functionality and newly created high-resolution textures and models to the game, Portal with RTX was announced alongside Nvidia's new RTX 4080 and 4090 graphics cards. The 15-year-old title seems virtually brand-new, thanks to the improved lighting and reflections provided by the new graphics.

The most recent iteration of Nvidia's AI upscaling technology, DLSS 3, is supported by Portal with RTX and is intended to improve resolution and frame rate when paired with the company's most recent graphics cards. DLSS 3 is only available on Nvidia's 40-series GPUs; previous Nvidia graphics cards can only use DLSS 2.
