Mobile Coding Agent Tools

Port22 Lets Developers Monitor Coding Agents From Their Phone

AI coding agents can continue working on a computer while developers step away, but progress can stall when an agent needs approval or input before it can continue. Port22 connects coding agents running on a Mac to a user's phone, allowing them to monitor which agents are working and which ones are waiting for intervention. When an agent needs permission, the user's phone can send an alert so they can respond remotely without returning to their computer.

Rather than simulating a keyboard command, Port22 presents the actual options offered by the coding agent, allowing users to choose the appropriate action directly. The tool works with coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex and attaches to existing setups without requiring a wrapper, additional configuration, or a new terminal. It can be useful for developers running longer agent tasks who want to keep projects moving while away from their Mac. The free version supports one Mac and two active sessions while providing access to the full feature set.

Mobile Agent Oversight
Smartphone-based monitoring of autonomous coding workflows creates room for lighter remote control layers that keep AI-assisted projects moving without tethering developers to their desks.
Permission-aware Automation
Approval bottlenecks in agentic software development highlight demand for interfaces that surface context-specific decisions at the exact moment human judgment is required.
Wrapperless Tool Integration
Tools that attach to existing developer environments without new terminals or configuration introduce opportunities for low-friction productivity products built around current AI coding habits.

Sectors Adopting This

Software Development
Agent-driven coding workflows are reshaping developer productivity by making asynchronous supervision and remote intervention part of everyday engineering operations.
Mobile Productivity
Phone-based command and alert experiences point to a broader market for professional tools that extend desktop work sessions into responsive mobile touchpoints.
AI Developer Tools
The rise of autonomous coding assistants expands the need for companion utilities that manage status, approvals, and continuity across multi-agent development setups.
