Architecture firm Rahul Pudale Design completes the Porous Adobe building, which is a compact family residence named after the perforated earth facade. It is nestled on a narrow site in India which measures six meters in width and 15 meters deep. It maximizes light and greenery with a breathable structure opened up by a series of courtyards.
The studio director Rahul Pudale speaks about the project, sharing "The client, in transition from their rental accommodation, brought forth fundamental needs reflective of a growing family of four. The client was keen on providing double-height spaces with green courtyards, which would maximise light and ventilation and create interconnected spaces. The courtyards not only infuse the interior with natural light but also facilitate cross-ventilation and spaces for interaction."
