The ‘Popsicles’ Series by Putput Looks Good Enough
Erin Kirkpatrick — August 1, 2012 — Art & Design
True talent is being able to turn an everyday object into a work of art and the ‘Popsicles’ series by Putput does just that. Putput, a creative design based out of Denmark, created a series of dessert-inspired photographs that are surprisingly deceptive.
Using unorthodox materials, this series constructs ordinary sponges to look exactly like delicious frozen treats. With multiple colors of sponges, materials and shapes, traditional dish sponges were transformed into popsicle look-a-likes.
By simply looking at these popsicles, it is clear how realistic they are, as they induce cravings for ice cream sandwiches and bars. With a little bit of creativity, attention to detail and imagination, the Popsicle series by Putput has remixed a household object into a delicious dessert depiction.
