In some scenarios -- such as in the case of Popico Popcorn packaging -- the designer sees a great opportunity in the appearance of the product that would be capable of enhancing the look of the wrapper directly. This fictional brand of rainbow-colored snacks presented delectable possibilities for receiving consumers' attention.
Darbi Nicole, a student, decided to box up the candy corn in clear plastic cartons that enable a full view of the vividly dyed pieces. Thin paper sleeves were then applied as loose labels to Popico Popcorn packaging. The little translucent covers hint at the hues of the snacks behind them, but they don't cover the contents all the way to the top. The upper edge is cut off with a zigzag pattern, reminiscent of familiar cinema popcorn bags.
