While most fast food chains are rolling out pumpkin-flavored products for the fall season, McDonald's Italy is going a different route with its new Pocket Sundae. Introduced back in the summer, the clever dessert plays on the growing demand for handheld dishes and the increasing popularity of creative ice cream treats.
The new Pocket Sundae consists of a smooth waffle shell that is filled with vanilla soft serve ice cream and then topped with a drizzle of fudge-flavored sauce and chopped hazelnuts. Because it is served much like a taco, the dish allows consumers to enjoy the same portability of a traditional ice cream cone.
With temperatures beginning to drop, the Pocket Sundae gives consumers a fun way to keep enjoying ice cream all year long.
