Sony announced an upcoming PC gaming platform accompanied by a 'PlayStation Launcher.' The platform is expected to function similarly to Microsoft's Xbox application on the PC, which allows users to log in with their console accounts and access games that are on the PC platform. For games on both platforms, there will be cross-progression and cross-play between the titles.
This application will function separately from Sony's PSPlay and PSNow applications which allow for game streaming based on a subscription model.
