At the Consumer Electronics Show 2020, Colgate shared the Plaqless Pro smart electric toothbrush with optic sensor technology to detect and remove biofilm buildup in the mouth while brushing. The next-gen oral care tool is designed to provide real-time feedback on just how clean the teeth really are, helping individuals to improve their brushing technique and become aware of areas that they may be regularly missing.
Colgate's Plaqless Pro toothbrush is set to be the first commercially available electric toothbrush that is capable of detecting biofilm buildup and offer coaching to enhance the brushing experience.
According to Dr. Maria Ryan, Colgate's Chief Dental Officer, "In the dentist's office, we're beginning to see a shift toward precision oral care that tailors treatment to each patient's specific needs. The Colgate Plaqless Pro smart electric toothbrush is inspired by that shift, and improves brushing efficacy by accounting for an individual's brushing technique and the biofilm buildup in their mouth."
