These baked plantain fries are a healthy alternative to the salty snack and also make a tasty savory breakfast. Posted on Tasty Yummies, the recipe is ideal for those with dietary restrictions, allergies or even people on the Autoimmune Protocol like food blogger Beth. Similar to traditional french fries, the plantain fries are starchy, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They aren't sweet like sweet potato fries either and go great with garlic avocado dipping sauce.
To make your own, you will need a large green plantain, coconut oil, sea salt and garlic powder. The dipping sauce calls for ingredients such as avocado, a large clove of garlic, lime juice, water, olive oil and sea salt. Beth notes you could also dip the fries in homemade chimichurri, aioli or mayonnaise.
