'Pizza Hunt' is the title of the art book by Ho Hai Tran, a man with an obsession with repurposed Pizza Huts.
Today, Pizza Hut locations can be found in food courts, strip malls and typical-looking restaurant locations. But back in the glory days of the vintage Pizza Hut, every Pizza Hut pizzeria was built according to the design of the original franchise location in Wichita, Kansas. The trapezoid roof of the original hut survives the Pizza Hut logo emblazoned on every box.
It also lives on in the Ho Hai Tran's Pizza Hunt project. Tran documents the new uses for vintage Pizza Hut buildings. In his Pizza Hunting, Tran has witnessed the recognizable huts being occupied by everything from funeral parlors to pool halls. Pizza Hunt illustrates a fascinating co-existence between past and present.
