Pet Supplies Plus will acquire a total of 40 Pet Valu locations after the company announced last November that it will reduce United States operations and close down 360 locations.
According to a press release 40 Pet Valu locations will open under the Pet Supplies Plus banner as soon as January 2021. The 40 stores are located across the United States, including Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
Pet Supplies Plus said that after the acquisition, "Many jobs will have been saved that might otherwise be lost." The 40 locations will be run as a blend of corporate and franchisee-owned stores. With the recent acquisition, Pet Supplies Plus will have over 500 locations across 35 states.
