Reading nutrition labels on food can often be quite confusing but the Pinto app aims to make this easier by offering personalized nutrition labels based on specific ingredients and nutritional information users care about. Designed for followers of specific diets, or those with food restrictions, the app can be used to scan the back of a package and it will then provide concise and easy to understand personalized nutrition labels.
The app currently holds a database of around 100,000 items for the top-selling 85% of food products available in the US. The items are all inputted by the team at Pinto who also construct diets through the app for users to easily access. The app can also be used to search for specific products high in certain nutrients and even utilizes AI to estimate the nutrition of certain items in relation to a specific diet.
