'Everyware,' the Austin, Texas-based payment solutions provider, unveiled 'Pay By Text,' a new functionality that allows consumers to pay for transactions simply by using their phone number. Pay By Text enables merchants to leverage Visa's Token ID technology to send a charge to a customer through a text message. The customer must then only reply "Yes" to the message, and the payment will automatically process to the user's saved credit card information.
Everyware's Pay By Text functionality streamlines the payment process while simultaneously increasing the security and reliability of the system. With Pay By Text, both credit card fraud and unauthorized transaction rates will decrease. This is because Pay By Text does not store any credit card information on a server, meaning there is a minimal chance for a harmful security breach leading to compromised payment information. On top of this, Visa's Token ID technology makes credit card fraud far less likely to occur.
