Patient-Led Support Platforms

ALS.Community Connects Patients Through Shared Experiences

ALS.Community is introducing patient-led support platforms through a free digital space designed to reduce isolation among people affected by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Unlike conventional support resources, the nonprofit platform allows members to help shape its development and establish personalized communities based on shared experiences, interests, or locations. This approach gives patients and caregivers greater involvement in creating meaningful connections.

The platform features interactive gathering spaces, including a Connection Café, webinars, watch parties, and virtual entertainment areas. Its educational library covers more than 230 topics across 11 subject areas, providing practical guidance on caregiving, financial concerns, and clinical care.

By combining social interaction with accessible information, ALS.Community could help nonprofit organizations and healthcare professionals connect with affected families. Its free membership model also removes subscription costs, potentially encouraging broader participation and sustained peer support.
