Cochin International Airport introduced a passenger-assistance robot developed by Pune-based Kinetics Robotics, featuring live flight updates and an integrated cultural guide. Installed at Kalangan in the Domestic Security Hold Area, the unit greets travelers, provides directions, and shares curated information about Kerala’s art and sculptures.
The robot provides real-time flight information, gate guidance and directions to airport facilities. It can also direct visitors to exhibits on Kathakali and Ottanthullal while acting as a general travel assistant for schedules and services. Future phases include deploying robots in check-in halls and testing delivery robots for food and other goods inside the terminal.
For passengers, the system streamlines navigation while adding a cultural layer to waiting time. The project reflects a broader shift toward multifunctional airport robotics that combines operational assistance with destination storytelling. Its planned expansion gives the airport a scalable platform for passenger service and terminal delivery automation.
