Pascal Smelik wanted to see if he could find beauty in deformed natural elements despite negative connotations.This vision was brought to life by simulating melted candles using aluminum and bronze. In addition to the candle holders,Pascal Smelik also created glasses and stools as a part of the Kaarsrecht series. His work is currently on display at Object Rotterdam 2011.
