The newly updated Parks Canada app encourages Canadians to explore the great outdoors and to appreciate the natural beauty surrounding them. The mobile platform gives users access to everything from packing, and travel tips to a photo library for those who love to capture nature.

Parks Canada's 2017 Discovery Pass honors Canada's 150th anniversary, and gives holders free entry to all national parks for an entire year. This updated app goes one step further with interactive maps, and even offers custom geofilters that can be accessed at different locations. The platform allows users to search remote locations, leading them to unlock hidden geo filters at various check points when they geotag specific spots.

This interactive platform appeals to social media lovers, following a similar model as popular messaging, and sharing apps like Snapchat, and Instragram's Stories feature.
