A new form of Mortal Kombat animation has come out -- construction paper animation. The animation features Mortal Kombat 1 fatalities and captures the cut-out paper blood spilling out with cheesy sound effects.
The paper animation, created by Eric Power, is done using stop motion photography and has been dubbed 'paperalities' by the creator. Look out for more stop-motion paper animation films soon, including Zelda.
Implications - With society being saturated with high-definition graphics, it becomes difficult to gain attention from consumers with more of the same. In order to stand out, companies should consider products with a more retro aesthetic opposite from the high quality customers are used to. Due to this alternative approach, the public is more likely to take notice.
