Reimagined Open-Top Supercars

Gordon Murray's Latest Supercar Features a Stylish Open Cockpit

When you consider the fact that Gordon Murray Automotive is the brainchild and creation of a man who made his name designing Formula One racing cars, you'd come to expect nothing but the most interest and mind-blowing automotive designs, which is precisely what the 'T.33 Spider' open-top supercar offers.

Keen followers of Gordon Murray's work will be familiar with the 'T.33,' which is renowned for an instantly recognizable design and highly immersive and enjoyable driving experience aided by a Cosworth V12 engine. What the new 'T.33 Spider' does is make use of the same carbon fiber construction whilst offering additional bonuses such as the ability to haul 295 liters of luggage, not to mention an open-top design.

Murray noted that a tremendous amount of effort went into creating and designing a vehicle that would stay true to the principles of the 'T.33' whilst also evolving and reinterpreting it. "From the very beginning I knew that one of the biggest challenges in designing the T.33 Spider would be keeping the purity, balance and overall beauty of the T.33," said Murray. "That's why I sketched both versions at the same time to make sure that the proportions would work".
