Open-concept offices are becoming more popular among a dynamic Millennial workforce that values experience-oriented workplaces, however, finding a quite place to work can sometimes pose a challenge. Open spaces make it difficult for colleagues to interact without disturbing those around them, prompting designers to find creative solutions that help seclude workers, without isolating them.
Framery, a Finnish tech start-up, created silent "phone booths" that offer people a temporary space to make noise, or escape from it. Set up strategically in the office, these colorful booths indicate quite zones, where people can escape from their workstations to have a meeting, make a phone call or work in silence without disturbing those around them. The stylish pods offer solutions to mundane cubicles without sacrificing design aesthetic.
