Revamped Urban Spaces

Diamond Schmitt Reimagines Toronto's Unused Ontario Place

Diamond Schmitt Architects and developer Therme Group have designed its plans to upgrade Toronto's lakefront district, Ontario Place.

The design consists of adding swimming pools, botanical gardens, and interactive art displays in order to revive the unused lakefront space. The design will blend some of the original architecture built in the 70s with new public spaces. The main addition is a large glasshouse that will house abundant greenery and swimming pools. This glass pavilion will span the entirety of the property and will lead to a man-made lakefront beach.

The design hopes to create a strong connection between nature and the human spirit. The design is pronounced and will be a future destination spot for locals and tourists alike.
