The 'Oni kara Denwa' App from Media Active Scolds Children

— March 9, 2025 — Tech
The 'Oni kara Denwa' app has been created by Media Active in collaboration with Japanese comedian Kintalo as a digital parenting tool that will offer parents a way to chastise their youngsters for not behaving.

The app, which translates to Phone Call from a Demon, works by having parents prompt a call from a demon when kids are misbehaving as a way to encourage them to enhance their manners. Parents can choose from five scolding scenarios including when kids won't listen, won't go to bed, won't eat their food, get into fights with siblings or break their promises.

The 'Oni kara Denwa' app is paired with humorous albeit slightly horrific imagery of Kintalo in a demonic disguise that will be displayed when kids listen to the call.
