Through the miniature ice fishing hut series One Empire Wide by David Trautrimas, the Canadian tradition of fishing is artistically explored. This teeny-tiny sculptural series consists of 22 mini modeled and scaled sculptures of fishing huts.
These bite-sized fishing shacks are made from Canadian materials and even use discarded Canadian waste and recyclables in their designs. For example, some of the detailed sculptures have integrated fast-food containers into their cutesy architectural representations.
These sculptures may look like play things, but for approximately $400 a piece, these are not for the little ones. These sculptures are less likes toys and more a way of expressing your love for the sport of ice fishing. There are over 10 different styles and designs available to choose from for these fishing abodes. Some of the huts have the more traditional boxy shape common of fishing huts, while the other models have a more contemporary feel and design.
