Displayed at the Battalion Gallery in Amsterdam, these painted works by Olivier Vrancken are a contemporary take on a cubist aesthetic made popular by famed visual artist Pablo Picasso.
Belgian artist and designer Olivier Vrancken composes his works with the use of acrylic paint and ink mediums that are displayed on canvas, wood and paper backdrops. Referencing a multitude of complex themes, the artist's paintings feature simplified and abstracted depictions of his own personal experiences that are merged with traditional symbolism relating to spirituality.
Inspired by different genres in music, teachings in philosophy and by life in general, these stunning paintings merge various shapes and color hues to create thoughtful compositions. When completed, these compositions are reflective of the artist's many meaningful life lessons and experiences.
