Olive Leaf Iced Teas

Olia is Innovating in the Contemporary Beverage Category

Olia has introduced the world's first ready-to-drink olive leaf iced tea. The beverage is essentially a lightly sparkling, caffeine-free beverage available in three fruit-forward flavors.

What sets Olia's innovation apart on the market is that the beverages are formulated with olive leaf extract sourced from Spain. The drink contains no artificial ingredients, fewer than 40 calories, and seven grams or less of sugar per 12-ounce can.

Olia claims that olive leaf iced tea beverage delivers up to 14 times the antioxidants of green tea, 13 times that of black tea, six times that of pomegranate juice, and three to five times more than a typical serving of common antioxidant-rich fruits. This is primarily due to the inclusion of oleuropein, a polyphenol clinically associated with immune support, cardiovascular function, and cellular protection against oxidative stress.

Functional Olive Leaf Beverages
The high oleuropein content and clinical associations with immune and cardiovascular benefits create room for beverages that compete with traditional functional drinks by leveraging olive leaf as a core active ingredient.
Antioxidant-forward Positioning
Brands emphasizing quantifiable antioxidant multipliers over conventional tea claims could reshape consumer perceptions of healthier refreshment options.
Low-calorie Clean-label Sparkling Teas
Growing preference for lightly sparkling, caffeine-free drinks with minimal sugar and no artificial additives points toward a category that challenges sugary sodas and energy drinks.

Who This Affects Most

Beverage Manufacturing
Formulation and supply-chain adaptations to incorporate olive leaf extract at scale could alter product portfolios across ready-to-drink lines.
Nutraceuticals and Supplements
Olive leaf’s concentrated polyphenols present opportunities for supplement firms to create crossover products that blur the line between beverages and clinical-grade formulations.
Foodservice and Hospitality
Premium outlets and on-premise providers introducing olive leaf iced teas could redefine beverage menus toward functional, low-caffeine alternatives.
