Looking like something out of a Terry Gilliam movie, the Ohio River Project consists of traveling performers floating down the Ohio River on a magical makeshift boat.
The boat is made out of reclaimed lumber and steel, and comes complete with a peddle-powered ferris wheel, a sculptural piano and a wide collection of old books. The members of the project built the boat themselves, set it in the river and then drift down bringing joy and amusement to passerbys and the inhabitants of towns along the way.
The performers on the boat put on a show; this year the production is 'Sasquatch: The Musical.' According to their Kickstarter video promo, the team is doing this because it "creates magic moments that cannot be replicated by any other device of consumer culture." Full of mystery and wonder, the Ohio Boat Project is a testament to human creativity and imagination.
