Apple has recently made Official iPhone Parts available to different repair shops that are not affiliated with the tech giant. Independent repair shops are now able to send in an application of certification to sell the parts on the Apple website. Apple has titled the initiative the "Independent Repair Provider Program."
The certification program allows Apple to maintain control over the Official iPhone Parts, while also allowing consumers to get easier access to phone repairs. This allows the brand to decide who does and does not get access to the parts, as it is still in control of manufacturing the parts. Apple has previously noted hacking-related concerns which lead to hesitation in allowing all parties to access its parts.
Accessible phone repairs have always been in high demand as they allow consumers to save money on new devices, making this new development by Apple crucial for both iPhone users and independent phone-fixing businesses.
