The Oasis Towers are an upcoming series of skyscrapers expected to arrive in Nanjing, China to infuse the metropolis with a naturalistic form and aesthetic.
The towers maintain a stratified form that calls to mind the natural world and are covered in a series of shrubs as well as trees to literally infuse nature into the project. The towers will be in the burgeoning Jiangbei New Area district and will sit on a shared podium to maximize the amount of outdoor space in the area.
Founding partner of the architecture firm behind the project, MVRDV, Winy Maas commented on the Oasis Towers saying, "The contemporary architecture of Nanjing takes its inspiration from nature in form and appearance. With Oasis Towers we wanted to push this trend to the max – not only emulating nature with curving, stratified 'cliffs,' but also to literally incorporate nature into the design with the greenery and by tapping into natural processes."
