Lexi Boling looks like a mermaid who's washed up to shore in the 'Sirène' editorial for Numéro China's June 2014 issue -- but looks can be deceiving.

Mermaids are closely associated with sirens. In Greek mythology, a siren refers to a creature who is both incredibly beautiful and incredibly dangerous. The original "femme fatale," the sirens lured sailors to their death with their enchanting music. Though Boling looks harmless upon first glance -- she wears soft pink hair and a peaceful expression -- one is immediately reminded of these sensual water nymphs. You can't help but be drawn in by her intoxicating serenity, which is only further enhanced by the turquoise waters she is partially submerged in.
