Network-Optimizing AI Agents

Nokia and Google Cloud Harness AI Agents in Their Partnerships

Nokia and Google Cloud have expanded their partnership to integrate specialized AI agents, built with Google's Gemini multimodal models, into Nokia's Assurance Center network software suite. This move creates a multi-agent ecosystem designed to help telecommunication providers dramatically accelerate network automation, reduce operational costs, and resolve service issues with unprecedented speed.

Six specialized agents are being rolled out as part of the Nokia and Google Cloud collaboration. These include a router agent that interprets user intent and orchestrates communication between other agents, an event triage agent that analyzes alarms against historical patterns to identify root causes, a KPI selector agent that provides expert interpretation of complex performance metrics, an anomaly reasoner agent that distinguishes genuine issues from false alarms, an action reasoner agent that recommends specific remediation steps, and a dashboard agent that generates visual analytics through natural language prompts. All of these AI agents are developed using Google Cloud's Agent Development Kit.

The framework introduces what Nokia calls "glass box autonomy," where the action reasoner agent presents confidence-based recommendations to human engineers who retain final approval over critical control points.
