In July 2019, Nike will launch the Nike Fit app, which is designed to find the best fit for each customer's size. Users are able to obtain their proper size using an augmented reality feature, within the Nike Fit app. Using a phone camera, Nike Fit has capabilities to measure feet with a degree of accuracy that's within millimeters. The camera uses reference points around the foot in order to get the best measurements possible.
The app uses several new technologies in conjunction with each other. Nike Fit uses machine learning, artificial intelligence, recommendation algorithms and more. AI then compares the recommended sizes to the user’s own preferences. The Nike Fit app is planned to launch in July 2019.
