The New Hokkaido's latest beer cans were inspired by the stories from Japanese lore and culture. Whether its the ingredients or flavor notes -- when made correctly beer can tell a story to the drinker. This particular beer can has an incredibly unique story to tell, taking cues from traditional storytelling and Japanese culture.

The contemporary graphics used to convey the story feature modern illustration and color blocking, drawing the consumer in. A simple black box is then used to display a summary of the story that inspired the can, bringing everything together. Official copy from the brand explaining these designs reads, "Nimble tree spirits? A phantom with icy breath that freezes victims solid? The elusive mountain echo that takes the form of a monkey-dog? We’ve got stories to tell."
