Garden-Sheathed Peruvian Buildings

This Neglected Building Has Been Gifted a Fresh Lease Of Life

Angas Kipa, an architectural firm that's based in the city of Chiclayo in Peru, has shown how innovative and fresh architectural thinking can be used to turn neglected buildings into spectacular architectural examples with its rejuvenation of the Cabrera Building.

Situated in a historic central neighborhood in Chiclayo, the original building was abandoned and crumbling when Angas Kipa got involved. The architectural firm managed to install vertical gardens that peek out of a perforated facade, giving the building a green and lively exterior. This garden facade also enables sunlight and air to flood the building.

Transformed into a modern new office and home, this once neglected building is an exemplar of how intelligent design can be used to breathe new life into abandoned structures.
