Folded Buildings

Rio de Janiero's Museum of Image and Sound Looks Layered

Rio de Janeiro will soon have a new building to house the Museum of Image and Sound.

Created by architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the Museum of Image and Sound is set to accommodate galleries, education rooms, an auditorium, bars, a restaurant and an outdoor rooftop cinema.

Located on the picturesque coastline of Rio de Janeiro, construction for the Museum of Image and Sound is set to be done in 2011.

Implications - This folded building architecture could quickly become an iconic building for the emerging mega-city. Buildings that are highly distinctive create a distinguishable visual identity for a city. This just makes me want to travel to Brazil.
