The famed French graffiti artist JR uses illustrations to create life-size optical illusions with a museum installation at the Louvre Pyramid. The creative makes the iconic structure that is recognizable around the world disappear using photographic prints.
Making a building structure disappear entirely is no small feat, but artist JR is able to do so using clever visual optical illusion. The artist creatively sets up a black and white print of the building located behind the Louvre Pyramid and cuts it in the exact shape of the Pyramid. Then using a crane, the print is placed in front of the Louvre Pyramid to fully conceal the structure. From a dead on perspective, it looks as though the Louvre Pyramid no longer exists.
