Raspberry Pi unveils a new look at the Camera Module 3 which is packed with new features and improvements. This includes a higher resolution, HDR functions, autofocus, infrared, wide-angle FOC, and much more. It is the first new camera module by the brand in the past 6 years.
Previously, the Module 2 iteration ran on the foundation of the Sony IMX219 8-megapixel IMX708 chip. Now, Module 3 has powered autofocused features built-in. This allows it to be a bit thicker, measuring to be 12.4mm in comparison to the previous 9mm. It is a versatile device, which allows users to focus on objects from an impressive distance between 5cm to 'and infinity.' Due to the HDR capability, it is able to take multiple exposures simultaneously.
